Svenson Barristers
Svenson Barristers is a generalist Melbourne clerking List of more than 200 barristers and mediators, including interstate members. Established in 1963 as List S and later known as Gordon & Jackson, it took its current name in 2017 under Anna Svenson, the first woman to lead a clerk’s office at the Victorian Bar.
History
The List began in 1963 as List S, and for a period operated as Gordon & Jackson. It was renamed Svenson Barristers in 2017 when Anna Svenson, who had led the clerk’s office since November 2016, became the first woman to head a clerking business at the Victorian Bar.

A generalist List with members across the full range of practice, including mediators and alternative dispute resolution practitioners. Svenson Barristers is a signatory to the National Model Gender Equitable Briefing Policy. The clerk’s office is at Owen Dixon Chambers West, 525 Lonsdale Street.
